Tiger Woods cited for crash outside home

Tiger Woods was accused of careless driving, when he crashed into a tree outside his house in Orlando, Florida. He will not be attending the golf tournament disappointing hundreds of fans. He hit a tree with his 2009 Cadillac SUV according to the police the crash happened at 2:25 a.m on Friday. The crash has ended Woods' appearances until next season. Woods will not participate in any other tournaments in 2009. People with tickets for the event hoping to see Woods play are disappointed but he promised they would get a discount for next year's tournament. Police say they don't know why woods was driving away from home at such hour.

We think this is an event that disappointed many fans because they won't be able to see Woods in the tournament.

We think that it was very courageous of the soldier to jump in to save his comrade, his friend, his brother.

Divers find U.S. soldier's in Afghanistan river

Military divers found a U.S. soldier body they say this man went missing last week. Paratroopers are still looking for another soldier who was lost at the same time. Both men disappeared in the Morghab river close to the border with Turkmenistan. The soldier jumped into the river to save another man but he jumped to save his brother. " I raised him with the understanding that when you choose to do something, you do it to the best of your ability" said his brother.

Pakistan's Military Claims Taliban Stronghold.

Summary

Pakistan's military said on Tuesday that its forces had taken over a Taliban stronghold in the region of South Waziristan. Pakistan forces have secured the area of Sararogha and started to clear the area of weapons and ammunition. They have also gained control of Kaniguram. 21 militias and 1 Pakistan soldier died when they have been fighting for 24 hours in Sararogha. Pakistan's leader Hakimullah Mehsud is still in the region backed up by 8,000 militant soldiers. More than 180,000 people have been taken out from their town by the Taliban's offensive.The taliban atacked the cities of Lahore and Rawalpindi with suicide bombs which killed 30 people. Hours later two suicide bombers detonated their explosives near a police checkpoint and injured 17 cops and civilians.

Our group thought that this news was interesting because it looks like the US is a very developed country. We also thought that it would be killing more people by sending more soldiers. Yes, it's true that they are patriots and are willing to die for their country, but it would also affect the economic part of the US.

Adding Afghanistan Troops Could Cost $500,000 Per Person

Summary

If President Obama decides to send more troops ( 40,000) to Afghanistan the costs could reach 20 billion dollars a year according to pentagon officials. This idea was requested by Gen. Stanley McChrystal. The cost of keeping a soldier in the war zone is $500,000 a year per soldier. The estimate made by the pentagon is not accurate because it does not include building additional facilities, providing support and replacing weapons and equipment. The heads of the army and marines who provide soldiers for the war have expressed concern that if they send a large amount of soldiers they will have to cut down on the time troops spend between deployments. The marines can only add 8,000 troops while the army can add approx. 48,000 that are not committed to deploy. One official did notice that if the plan is put into effect additional forces will have to be sent to areas where the Taliban might flee the country (northern region).
